You look surprised, your words do not hurt me anymore. Thats what we may say, but the truth is that although we try to create a barrier around us, hide behind our clothes. Our bare skin still gets chills with black words. I call it black words, words that break through our white souls, those that make small cracks, cracks that will eventually define us.
It makes us brave, its a new kind of us, it makes us be fighters, independent, it brings us closer to ourselves. Black words may create cracks, but they may never come through that barrier. Barrier of trust, trust in ourselves, we must believe that black words are never true, we must believe our own precious words. Don't be scared of being yourself, and tell your self that those words don't hurt anymore, although we may get some chills from time to time, we can cope it, because we are strong. We have become our true selves and this is so much more worth than some meaningless words that give slight cracks along our barrier, a barrier that will grow with some and become thinner with others, those who appreciate us more. But before anyone else appreciates us, we need to appreciate ourselves. Not being scared of looking people straight in the eye¹ , not being scared of standing up straight with your shoulders back², not being scared of showing vulnerability at times³, not scared of expressing yourself⁴, not scared of acting out and throwing your head back⁵, not being scared of standing on your toes⁶, and definitely not scared of spreading your arms and welcoming people into your life⁷. People who keep you away from black words.
